Apple store opens in Prishtina, Kosovo

I saw the billboards last week.  Apple was coming to Prishtina, Kosovo's capital.  This week I stumbled by it look for a Ministry building (Molla is the Albanian word for "Apple".  I went inside and took a quick peak.  There's not much in there yet, some iPods (nanos and shuffles) and a few Macs.  The helpful salesguy was quick to tell me that they were getting shipment in this week.

Civilization has arrived in Kosovo! Yeah!

Wasn't sure how to email you directly but thought you'd like to see this. Getting ready to do ministry in a 3rd world location with no electricity, ice, or anything cold, this is going to be a pretty big deal in these locations....

Hi Jeff! On a recent trip to Macedonia I was delighted to discover Skopje has an Apple store too. And one of my fellow American pals was very pleased to enjoy Dr. Pepper at an embassy picnic. Go, globalization! (well, some of it I don't like so well...)

Marti, thanks for the note. One of my colleagues told me about the Apple store in Skopje and we were jealous ;)

There is still nothing in the apple store in Kosovo,in fact there is nothing else in Kosovo , they all say these and that, but it is a dump and non-civilazed country - and probably will stay like that forewer .

All the best

Dr. Diagnosis; There is so much more than Apple in this world.
FYI Steve Jobs was only in it for the money and the Power.
Since you are using Apple(acc to your thoughts: it means by default you civilized, let me break the news for you, i honestly don't find you that way, otherwise you would not say such a thing.
People try to write something about the technology and leave the rest out.

I am Greek and I am ashamed of the previous so called Greek that signed in the name of all Greeks ( I personally think that he is a serb ...but anyway) Greeks and Illyrians were the oldest nations in Balkans. When other people were still in the trees, Greeks and Illyrians lived in civilisation as good neighbours. I know that some Greeks think that Serbs are closer to us because of the religion but we have nothing else in common and we are realizing this day by day. With Illyrians and Albanians we lived more peacefully than with any other nation close to us. I have many Kosovar friends and before I met them I had different opinion. After I meet them and saw how close is our mentality I changed my opinion totally. So Albanians are pure blod Illyrians almost as ancient as Greeks. But you Amerikans with no history of your own, you are mixed races of spaniards, english and Merkels. You have no prior history to show except the one from the very recent one. You should be happy that Greeks and Illyrians have left mark in the world (and Roman empire little bit)so the world has history. Every science that you are using derives from Greeks, even the one Billy Gates used.

I was reading this blog by chance and I am confused: is this a blog on technology or history?

Anyway I am an expatriate working and living in Kosovo and in terms of technology you can find everything here from worst to the best technology. I am not a fan of apple, therefore it doesen't matter to me whether in Kosovo is an apple store or not. However about the so called Greek postings - by the way I agree with "annonymos" that most likely they are serbs - I can say one thing: Belgrade is poor. We just were there for the weekend and you could see cheepness in people eyes. They are like Bullgarians. ....FYI... My colleague working together with me in EU mission in Kosovo is Greek and we both love Kosovo and Kosovo people.
